Assembling The Staff

"We have to prepare the school - the children are coming today." Spoke the deputy head/ She was a tall, beautiful woman that was quite reserved. She only gave out the required information at points in time but she was friendly and willing to help out anyone in need.
"We will need..." She raised her wand as she stood alone in the foyer. She sighed slightly and turned to the Great Hall.
Paintings on the wall were reconstructed from any mess left by the students from last year, goblets were set up on the tables as well as plates for food after the Sorting Ceremony. She would prepare the food later.
With a swish, she walked just to the huge doors of the Hall, pointing her wand at the long desk at the end. Upon it rose a speaker's stand which moved forward into the room and positioned itself so it was ready for reading from. The Sorting Hat would also come later.
With one final swish, all the braziers in the room were lit with a dazzling light!

Aurora Emory gazed around the Great Hall, admiring the deputy head's work. "When will they arrive?" She called out in a drawl, leaning lightly against a wall at the side of the room. Her back was straight and her head tall, almost seeming to confirm the upper class upbringing her clothes implied she had. Her hair was tied into a loose bun on the top of her head, and her blue eyes sparkled at the thought of terrorizing the little kiddies in her class. She grinned softly, and looked up at the deputy head. "May I please sort out the banners?" She asked, completely innocent... for a change. She started slightly as she felt something around her ankles. She looked down to see a tabby kitten winding its way around her feet. "Kitten!" She scolded softly, looking at the kitten in adoration. "What have I told you about staying up in the rooms?" She said. She leant down and picked up Kitten, stroking her gently as she looked up at the deputy to see if she had anything else to say.

The deputy head turned to the new teaching arrival.
"Good morning." She smiled. "Of course, you may sort out the banners as you see fit." She brought up her long cloak so it covered her feet as she moved away from the hall to allow the teacher to perform the magic that was required.
"By the way, I would be careful with that cat if I were you." She suggested. "That's the caretaker's."

Aurora could have jumped with glee if her upbringing had let her. "Thank you! Uhm... I'm sorry, I don't know your name." She said apologetically. It wasn't her place to ask, and the deputy head could tell her if she wanted to, or not if she didn't.

She kept stroking the kitten as she tilted her head to the side curiously. "Are you sure? She looks and acts like Kitten." She shrugged slightly. "Oh well, I like cats." She smiled sweetly, and placed the kitten down gently.

She pulled her wand out of her arm sleeve, and swiftly waved it at the banners. They immediatly started to morph, each banner randomly changing into one of the house colours, the crest also changing to reflect the house. One at the head of each table remained a constant colour and crest, to show which house sat there. The staff table had two unchanging banners, one at either end, that remained white with the Hogwarts crest on it. Aurora sighed happily. She loved charms, and that particular charm had taken her a long time to master. For a while, she had had to put a lot of fires out as her charms backfired.

"So... When do the little muchkins arrive?" She asked excitedly.
