A Witch's Wand

Serena walked into the store cautiously. Her father, knowing her need for independence, had pointed out the direction for her to go and left her to it. "Hello?" She called out to the seemingly empty shop. "Is there anyone here?" While she waited for an answer, she looked around the dusty shop, peering into boxes with wands in them, or staring at wands strewn over cabinets.

Ollivander appeared from sorting boxes in the back of the store.
"Hello, writing arm out please!" He brought a tape measure from his pocket, stepping over the dusty floor toward the counter. He stepped around the counter, ready to measure the girl's arm.

Serena jumped as a voice rang out from behind her. "Oh! I'm sorry. I didn't see you there." She murmered softly, before holding out her right arm. She shrank away slightly, before visibly forcing herself to straighten up and stay still.

Ollivander quickly measured her arm before flicking the tape measure back into its tight roll. He then dashed back around the counter, opening a small box. He pulled a wand out of the box.
"A wonderful wand, made from the finest Yew... 10 and a quarter inches with a core of Veela hair..." Ollivander smiled, handing the wand to the student, handle facing her. He hoped this would be the correct wand as this would keep up his winning(!) streak of not giving any students the wrong wands this term...

Serena held out her hand, cautiously grasping the handle. As soon as she touched, a feeling of peace and power ran through her body. This was her wand. She could tell. She looked up at the old guy in front of her and smiled slightly. "Thank you." ahe whispered. She paused a little. "How much is it?" She asked.

"Oh, all wands are free." Ollivander chuckled, putting away any wands lying around on his desk. "By the way, you may want to pick up some books and supplies before heading back to the school." He stated.

Serena smiled softly. "Thank you." She said. She nodded her head at his advice about going to get some books. "I'll go do that now. Thank's again." She waved at him as she left the shop.
